Every child deserves a chance! Every child deserves a champion!

In 2021, the Rise 2 Greatness Foundation launched a program dedicated to providing opportunities for young athletes from the many underserved communities across America.

This fund is a partnership of Rise 2 Greatness, current and former MLB players, community leaders and corporate partners from across America.

If you know of a player in need of financial assistance to attend a showcase or to offset the expense of travel baseball/softball, please fill out the application.

The Jerry Ford Grow the Game Fund Provides

  • Increased access to sport for all children
  • Free youth camps across America as the entry into sports
  • Funding for youth players to enter programming right in their neighborhoods
  • Gear packages for underserved athletes
  • Financial assistance for players to attend showcases and tournaments of their choice and sponsorship to remove entry barriers
  • Partnerships with like-minded individuals and organizations with shared missions

Grow the Game Showcase Sponsorship

Sponsorship or grants are solely based on need and are not guaranteed with completed application. This information is kept completely confidential. If granted, players are only eligible for one sponsored showcase per calendar year

A few more items regarding applications:

  • We will only consider applications if request is a minimum of 90 days in advance of an event.
  • If you have already attended a showcase within last calendar year with any organization and received your metrics testing, we will not consider funding. This program is earmarked for those who do not have access to showcase solely because of financial hardships.
  • We unfortunately will not cover travel ball organization costs as the need is simply too great.
  • This is a need based program and family income is large part of determination
